Last month marked my two-year anniversary of being diagnosed with cancer.
Today, I continue to live cancer free. However, even though I'm back living my life, I cannot...nor will not...forget the love, kindness, and support that was graciously given to me during my fight against cancer.
Matter of fact, I can still hear my nurse's words when she was administering chemo into my 'PICC Line' at the infusion center:
"If you make it through this ordeal Alex, then you are obligated to give back to others".
I think she would be happy to know that her words stuck in my memory. Her words, among many others' encouraging words and advice, serve as a constant banner that reminds me to continuously strive to help others in the community.
So, as I continue to live life after cancer, I will carve part of that life for the benefit of others.
In some way, this is my new fight.
...fitting for a Marine ;-)
