HOLIDAY BREAK BEFORE NEXT TREATMENT
Wednesday, December 18, 2013
I wanted to give a quick update before I head into Christmas week.
It's nice having a week and a half break before I begin radiation treatment. I get to enjoy the Christmas Holiday with family, friends and loved ones before jumping back into the fight against cancer.
In spite of the 3 ½ inch scar on my left side and some nerve pain in my left arm, I feel pretty good. Matter of fact, those who know about my situation and finally see me, they tend to say, "Alex, you look good!"
Regardless of how I look or personally feel, I realize that I still have cancer and a long road ahead – approximately a year – before the doctors can give me the “cancer free” stamp. But with high hopes, I expect the radiation and chemotherapy treatments will eradicate the remaining cancer cells in my body.
So, hopefully by this time next year, instead of looking good, I will look GREAT! :-)
